Interest in this British film director, producer and writer is on the rise following the premiere of her feature debut The Silent Storm, starring Andrea Riseborough and Damian Lewis, at 2014's London Film Festival.

McFarlane is also known for co-directing Three Miles North of Molkom (2008) with her partner Robert Cannan, a low budget documentary about one of the largest 'alternative' festivals in Europe. In 2015 she's expected to bring her comedy Monk's Apartment to a wider audience, not to mention a collaboration with Bond producer Barbara Broccolli which is also said to be on the cards.
